The seeds have been planted
In freshly turned earth;
Peas and tomatoes
Diligently transforming
Into tasty summer snacks
As the worms do their thing.

Waiting is the current effort;
My imagination promising
Culinary delights.
All along my smile knowing,
The inside of a kitchen
These gifts will never see.
